What is this Thrift Store about

Mission Statement

We strive to provide quality merchandise at affordable prices to low income families. The sale of all donated goods will go towards funding two abuse prevention and intervention agencies in Cache Valley: CAPSA and The Child and Family Support Center.

Who we are

Somebody’s Attic is a non-profit organization started in 1985 to generate funds to help local organizations fund abuse-prevention programs.

Somebody’s Attic is a grass roots organization conceived and started by dedicated community leaders who saw a need and did something about it.

Someone once called Somebody’s Attic “A second hand store with a first rate cause,” and we have worked to build an organization around that idea. Our causes include providing yearly funding to Community Abuse Prevention Services Agency (CAPSA), Child and Family Support Center of Cache County, Inc., and other selected community organizations.

At Somebody’s Attic, we celebrate community. Over 10,000 individuals and groups have given their time to Somebody’s Attic. More than a dozen local businesses have provided goods, services, and support. Private sector support has come from attics, basements, garage sales, church groups, and from you, the individual.

Somebody’s Attic maintains a very collaborative relationship with the Deseret Industries and supports their mission. All items that have not been sold or cannot be stored are picked up by the Deseret Industries.

As a result of the work of the volunteers and organizers involved, from 1987 to 2011, Somebody’s Attic has given back $1,132,000 to the Cache Valley community for abuse-prevention programs.
